My husband's sister just celebrated her 40th birthday! I hope she doesn't mind me saying her age especially since I'm sure everyone wishes they could look as young at 40 as she does! She requested our presence along with the whole immediate family at a rented beach house. Oh yeah - we wouldn't miss it!
Here's the house we stayed in. "Eagle's Nest" at the Seabrook resort. The smaller gray house to the right was the carriage house - connected to the main house. The place sleeps 15 people. Great since we had a party of 15.
Here are my kids with their cousins on my husband's side of the family.
My husband Tom with his two sisters.
This cool staircase led down to the beach.
The actual party was on Saturday night. Here's the birthday girl setting out some of the food.
KN helped set out the dessert counter and fill the veggie and salsa cups.
Time to eat! Wayyyyy too much food.
Every now and then I actually do get a photo with my husband. More so now that the kids like to take over the camera.
Uh - and the hot tub. As these two little guys told me - they were " Just warmin up."
Several of us enjoyed making our own perfumes at the perfume bar! ( My suitcase smells really good now. )
It was a packed weekend with lots to do and not enough time to do it all. Swimming at the pool, hanging out in the hot tub, bike riding on the bikes that come with the house, visiting the little local pub, building sand castles or chasing waves, playing video games on any of the many tv's in the house, eating ... again, or just talking and catching up with the family while taking in the view. So glad we could be a part of our sister's big day!
