Birthdays

Meat pie for breakfast? It was her birthday and she did do a fabulous job making the crust for our Australian meat pies. So, sure, meat pie for breakfast.
KN insisted we wait until the exact time she was born - 7:58 PM - before blowing out her candles on her cake. Then WHAMMO! She was NINE!
KN wanted a Littlest Petshop Birthday Party themed cake. She's not into pink but decided it would be the best color for the theme.
Her Daddy couldn't be here for her birthday as he went overseas, but he wanted to make sure she had something to open that she really wanted. ... A hard to find Littlest Petshop Hospital set.
She was very surprised to unwrap it. She says "Thank you Daddy! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!"
She had a special day with a huge spaghetti dinner which is her favorite. She likes things quiet and low key, so a shopping trip with Nana to Walmart in the morning and spending the day not doing any chores, playing with her sister and brothers was perfect. Then after dinner with Nana, Grandma and Papa, she stayed up as late as she wanted with Dr. Pepper and popcorn and watched one of her favorite DVD's.
My husband's birthday was three days before KN's. He's not really a cake guy so requested an apple pie. He got to eat one piece before heading off on his travels. A movie, some sushi and a couple of new video games and he was happy. Mostly happy to have a few days off to play with his Little J and talk tractors, trucks and football and with him.

I never realized how may family memebers have September birthdays. I will have to get out the calender and mark them all down. We could have an all family birthday party next year..wouldn't that be fun? I remember when you were 9 how is it possible KN is 9 already..time sure flys by when we get older. She is a beautiful young lady.I also wish I could get a tractor for Joey like Hunters but it is way to heavy to ship and a little pricey. They would have so much fun riding them together. Hunter did get two for his birthday if you ever come out this way in the next 3 years or so they could ride them.

What a good dinner and time we had with our KN. She is growing up way too swiftly..seems like you were 9 just yesterday dear daughter, and now you've a 9 year old daughter of your own.

Apple pie instead of cake... that's how our daddy likes a birthday, too!
And sometimes a girl just has to go with pink.

Birthdays are great celebrations!

Happy hunting and oh by the way before this spring I was wondering if you would disclose the beach you all went to for rock clams? It has been years and then we knew folks who lived right by the ferry dock on Vashon - too easy. And now all we do are the razors but I've been hankerin' for some steamers, but unfamiliar anymore with the better public beaches.

It was fun seeing your big boy at the Fair for nearly a week! I told Anna what M said, I heard her smile through the phone. Don't tell M but she might have some stiff competition from those northern girls hear tell they fight Justin so they can sit next to Anna! But Anna will always have a special spot for her little M. that's for sure!
