Puppies!

 Chelan had her first litter of puppies on May 15th.  She has six.  Three boys and three girls, and yes, this is a PLANNED pregnancy.  Planned and highly anticipated by the children!

 She's a good mom.  The first three seemed to just crawl out of her while she slept on her dog bed next to our bed.  Once we ( and she ) realized she was having puppies, we moved her to our mud room where we had a kiddie pool set up for her to have them in.  (Lined with newspaper and towels. )  KN and MN woke up as soon as they heard commotion and rushed in to take over puppy watch.  The first pup was born at 11:30 pm and the last around 2:30 am.  The kids took turns spending the nights on the couch the first week and changing bedding and letting Chelan outside when she needs to go.  Oh, and of course they hold the puppies all throughout the day.  Easiest litter I've ever had to deal with!
