I'm very excited! My brother called last week from the other side of the mountain. " The seven of us and a few dogs will be hopping into the big white happy bus ( his suburban ) to head over there for Thanksgiving. " He said.
Over the river and through the wood, and straight through the barn - yard gate. We seem to go extremely slow, it is so hard to wait! Over the river and through the wood - now Grandmother's cap I spy! Hurrah for the fun! Is the pudding done? Hurrah for the pumpkin pie!"by Lydia Maria Child
( these photos were taken on the road from my brother's house to ours. Then the last two are my brother on one of his horses pulling my husband and kids ( and dog ) on a homemade sled during one Thanksgiving weekend. )We're off to do some major house cleaning to get ready for our guests!

What a grand celebration it will be. I remember learning that poem in 3rd grade - thanks for jogging my memory. I wish you all a blessed Thanksgiving holiday.
What an awesome adventure this must be for the kids and the whole family together each year...have a blast and be safe!
Sounds like you guys are going to have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thanks for the memory of that poem. It was very fitting for your post.
Wasn't that a lot of fun ? Maybe it will snow here for Thanksgiving. We can tie a sled to Tater and let someone run ahead of her with the turtle to motivate her . Of course we'd have to wrap the turtle in wool.
Great memory and post ! Mom
