Brown Belt Testing

Okay, so CT wasn't kung foo fighting. We just like the movie and I like the song. CT had his Tae kwon do belt test on Saturday.

His father, who was unable to make it to the test this time because he was barbecuing for his work picnic, told CT he would give him $5 if he broke his board in half on the first kick. Then he added " Just don't let Mommy hold the board. " ( A parent or family member usually holds the student's board for them to kick through. My husband usually does this for CT. ) Good thing Grandpa was able to be there! CT broke that board in half so fast with his foot that all my camera caught was 'Papa' with a broken board. CT got $5 !!

He received his brown belt yesterday in class. His instructor puts it on and awards CT his certificate. The belt ranks in his school go in this order: White, Yellow, Orange, Hi Orange, Green, Hi Green, Blue, Hi Blue, Brown, Hi Brown, Red, High Red, Bo Dan, Black.

Very impressive! I bet he is proud of himself. They sure are growing fast. I remember when you were all that age, it seems like yesterday.

Thanks all for your comments! The brown belt is the level CT has been looking forward to and he was excited to reach this level. He actually ASKED me to bring my camera and take pictures. ( He usually hides from the camera. )
Lanny ~ hopefully he graduates from breaking boards to chopping firewood soon because our chainsaw is broken!
